Summary

This article explains how to setup email in SalesPRO for two commons email carriers:  Gmail and AOL.  Setting up email allows you to send quotes and orders from SalesPRO, via email using predefined templates. Gmail Instructions

  • Before we begin setup in SalesPRO, we need to make a slight adjustment in Gmail.  Login to your Gmail account.
  • Click on My Account.
  • On the My Account Window, Select "Sign In & Security".
  • Scroll down to Allow less secure apps and move the slider bar to ON.

From Within SalesPRO

  • Click on the Solatech logo in the upper left corner, then choose Application settings at the bottom of the list.

  • Once in Application Settings, click on Email in the left hand columb to view the Email Sending Method window. 
  • Make sure that "All email should come from one company account" is selected.
  • Click on the link Apply settings for common email carriers.


  • Select Gmail.


  • The outgoing mail server (SMTP) will be populated with smtp.gmail.com.
  • In the sender e-mail address field, enter your email address. (example: mycompany@gmail.com)
  • Place a check mark next to SMTP server requires authentication.
  • In the User Name field, enter your email address. (example: my company@gmail.com) 
  • In the Password field, enter your email password.
  • Use the 'Test Email Settings' at the bottom to send yourself an email and test the setup. 
  • You must use a different email address than the one used in setup to send the test email.
  • You will receive notification that a test message has been sent to your Email account.




AOL  or Microsoft Office 365 Instructions

  • Using the same instructions as above, starting with 'From Within SalesPRO', choose your appropriate email server when prompted.
  • For AOL
    • Place a check mark in the box SMTP Server requires a SSL/TLS Connection
    • Place a mark in the circle Issue a STARTTLS command
  • Use the 'Test Email Settings' at the bottom to send yourself an email and test the setup. 
  • You must use a different email address than the one used in setup to send the test email.
  • You will receive notification that a test message has been sent to your Email account.
