What's new with SalesPRO version 5.0.217

This article will explain the new features and updates to existing features that were introduced in version 5.0.217

Note: In this article, Q/S/O refers to quotes, sales and orders.

New Features

Product items can now be kept at the top of the items list in Order Entry.

By default the Keep Products Above Charges command is on. This will cause new product items to be kept above non-product items such as additional charges or discount when the product is added to the items list. A new Move Products to Top command was also added to move product items in existing Q/S/O to the top, above all non-product items. When using this command, non-product items are re-ordered in the order they were originally added.

The base retail cost and price can be overridden

By clicking the links under the Before Discount Cost or Base Retail Price headings on the Breakdown tab in the Edit Product Item dialog you can override the starting cost and price of a line item. This allows you to adjust the cost/price of line items without using the Customer Discount or Item Discount fields which means you can markup or markdown cost and price without highlighting the change on output. The customer discount, rounding, item discount will still apply when the base retail price is overridden.

Option Callouts can now be setup at the Product Type level

By using option callouts at the product type level you can now have fewer callouts that cover a wider range of products.

Updates to Existing Features

Installer comments are now included on the Field Measure form

Since the field measure form is often used by installers, private comments that are marked to be included on the Installer Form are now also included on the Field Measure form.

When deleting a payment, the delete button was changed to Remove

When a payment is deleted from a sale or order it's actually being un-allocated from the sale or order. The payment itself is still in the system and attached to the customer - but as a credit. To make this more clear two changes have been made to this process. The first is that the Delete button has been changed to Remove when deleting a payment from a sale or order. The second is that when a payment has been removed from a sale or order and the entire payment is no longer attached to any other sales or orders you will be prompted to delete the actual payment.

Other

  • Customer measurements are now sorted by location and then in the sequence they were added.
  • The Convert to Order command was removed.  To Convert Sales to Orders, you should send a PO to a vendor or mark it as Sent to Vendor which will automatically Convert the Sale to an Order.
  • The backup is now verified when it's complete.
  • When an initial sync is performed the user is prompted with an estimated time.
  • When a sync reset is performed the user is prompted with an estimated time.
  • The company will automatically close when a sync reset is started and won't open until it's complete.
  • An initial sync does not require any actions on the main system (other than creating the Roaming Workstation entry).
  • Additional charges are now always positive. If a negative number is entered it will be set to positive.
  • Customer promotions are now always negative. If a positive number is entered it will be set to negative.
  • When attaching PDF's, the customer is the default selection.
  • When line items are deleted in Order Entry, focus remains on the closes line instead of switching to the first line.
  • A default sales rep is no longer required in Application Settings.
  • The main application now starts maximized.
  • You can now save changes to product/style and option replacements even if there are errors at the time of review.
