WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may

require you to reinstall Windows to correct them. Solatech cannot guarantee that any problems

resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.

To enable product file caching:

  1. Launch Regedit.exe (click Run on the Start menu, choose REGEDIT, and click OK).
  2. Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Solatech.
  3. Right-click on the \Solatech Key and select New, Key.
  4. Enter the name "Product File Manager".
  5. Right-click on the new Product File Manager key and select New, Key.
  6. Enter the name "3.0".
  7. Click on the new 3.0 key to select it.
  8. From the Edit menu click New, DWORD Value. (On Windows Vista choose DWORD (32-bit) Value)
  9. Enter the name "CacheXMLLocal".
  10. Double-click on the new name.
  11. Change the Value data to 1.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Close the Registry Editor.

With Product File Caching enabled, the next time a product is accessed in Order Entry it will be

copied to the local system before it's used.

Notes:

  • Caching has no effect if the original source of the product files is already on the local drive.
  • Use must be using version 3.2.0.78 or higher of file swcspfm3.dll. This file is located in \Program Files\Common Files\Solatech Shared.
