Summary
When a company is opened you get a message indicating the log information in the company file
exceeds the recommended size.
More Information
Your Solatech Window Covering Software maintains an ongoing log of events that occur with the
company file. These logs are the Event Log and the Audit Log. The event log is updated when specific
tasks occur while users are using the system. These events are recorded as errors, warnings and
notices. The audit log keeps track of any change to the company database and can be used to trace
the history of changes to the data.
Over time these logs can become large in size and at some point that can cause performance issues.
To prevent problems, the size of the logs is checked periodically when the company is opened and if
the size is determined to be to large you will receive a message indicating the logs should be cleared
out.
Notes
- If you do not clear the event log then new events will not be recorded once the number of events exceeds 32000.
- Once a week the size of the event log is checked and if number of events is more than 32000 the event log will be automatically cleared. If this happens a text file of the existing events will be saved to the local computer prior.
- The audit log will always continue to record events no matter how large it gets.
For more information on how to delete or purge the event log please contact Solatech.
