In Solatech version 3.x and earlier, Status and History were combined into a single table, which

caused a fair amount of confusion. Different people interpreted it in different ways, and almost

nobody was satisfied with how it worked.

In Solatech version 4.x and later, Status and History were separated into different tables. In making

the transition from version 3.x to version 4.x, there is not a direct correlation between the two, and

additional confusion is the result.

Order Status is a single state - the current status of the order or quote. While there are some

aspects that are/can be automatically set depending on your preference settings, often the status is

manually changed to reflect what the current state of the order/quote is.

The Status History, on the other hand, maintains a history of significant events during the

order/quote's lifetime, including the date on which a particular milestone was reached.
