Summary
You may receive the message that SQL Server is not accessible when trying to open your Solatech company. Although there are various reasons for this error message, the two most common are that either SQL Server isn't running or that you have renamed your computer.

In order for applications to access a Solatech Window Covering Software company database, the
database server must be running. and properly configured. The server is run as a Windows service that normally is configured
to start automatically when Windows starts.
Solution 1: Check to See if SQL Server is running and start the service manually on Windows 7, 8 or 10 (if required)
- Type the word services in the search bar in the lower left hand corner of your computer screen OR go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services
- Double click on Services (Desktop App) when it appears in the search results
- Locate and select the service called SQL Server (SOLATECHDB)
- Click on Start
- Close the Services window.
Solution 2: If SQL Server is running and a Restart is necessary on Windows 7, 8 or 10 (if required)
- If you have followed the steps in Solution 1 and have the following results, simply click Restart.
- Close the Services window.
Solution 3: Modify the psd file if the computer has been renamed
- Navigate to the Solatech Data folder (typically found at C:\\Solatech Data\WCS4)
- Within the WCS4 folder, open the Companies folder
- Within the Companies folder, you will see various files. Open the file that has the extension ".psd" using notepad
- The computer name will be found between the word <Host> and \SOLATECHDB as highlighted below
- Change this text to the new computer name, and then save and close the file.
