Summary:

To handle special promotions, such as vendor "free cordless" or coupon savings, you may wish to create one or multiple promotional products to be used in Order Entry.  This article describes how to create and utilize these promotional products.

  • Open Product Manager. (From the main menu, click Products>Product Manager.)
  • Look for the product called Line Item Product.  If you do not see this product, you may need to download it from Product Updater. It will be found in the All other products section, under the manufacturer Solatech.
  • From the Product Manager toolbar, click the Duplicate Selected Product button 
  • Enter the New Product Name.
  • Click in the New File Name field. The file name is automatically created using the product name. You may change the file name if so desired.
  • Click OK.




  • You will be prompted to refresh your product list.  Select "Yes"
  • When the product refresh completes, look for the new product you created and place a check mark next to the product name, which will activate the product for use in Order Entry


How to use the product

  • Open a quote or order
  • Select the duplicated product
  • The only style will be Promotion
  • Enter a negative value in the item price field and hit "Enter"
  • In the example below, the promotion applies to three line items, so the quantity has been changed to 3
  • Add the line item to your quote/order
  • The amount which was entered will be automatically deducted from your total.
