Summary
You may receive the message that SQL Server is not accessible when trying to open your SalesPRO company. Although there are various reasons for this error message, the two most common are that either SQL Server isn't running or that you have renamed your computer.
More Information
In order for applications to access a SalesPRO company database, the database server must be running and properly configured.
The server is run as a Windows service that normally is configured to start automatically when Windows starts.
Solution 1: Check to See if SQL Server is running and start the service manually on Windows 7, 8 or 10 (if required)
- Type the word services in the search bar in the lower left hand corner of your computer screen OR go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services.
- Click on Services (Desktop App) when it appears in the search results.
- Locate and select the service called SQL Server (SWCS5). Note: this may also be listed as SQL Server (SOLATECHDB) or SQL Server (SQLFORSWCS).
- Click on Start.
- Once the SQL server starts, Close the Services window.
