Summary
SalesPRO software uses a File Sharing Service (Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.) for the syncing of data between a roaming workstation and a main system. All file sharing services store files on a per-user basis, which means that each Windows user has their own copy of the files. There is only one SalesPRO company database on the computer, and it is used regardless of which Windows user is logged in currently. Because of this, switching between Windows users will result in sync failures, since some of the sync files will be in the folder for one user, and some will be in the sync folder for another user.
Resolution
Solatech recommends that each Roaming Workstation user has their own computer.
If Roaming Workstation users will share a computer, the following must happen:
- Each user will need to log in as the same Windows user.
- Each user will log into the SalesPRO software using their own login.
- The user will only see Quotes, Sales and Orders that are attached to their SalesPRO login.
